Growing up I have a collection of vivid memories of my mum behind a camera taking my picture. Mum would take her camera everywhere snapping pictures of me and my brother as well as our family pets! I must admit this was the start of my fascination with cameras but I would not get my first one until I was 13yrs old. Until then some of my other treasured memories are of both my parent’s drawings and how their art style was very different and unique to them.

My mom can draw just about anything she puts her mind to, but realism takes a lot out of her! As for my dad, he makes some of the most amazing portraits I have seen out of dots! Which I have later learned to be called Pointillism. For the most part, my family is creative and always looking for inspiration for what something can become, or even what something used to be.

When I did get my first camera it was a little Polaroid instant, and I have to say for the short time I had it I loved it. I took that camera everywhere, to school, to air cadets, to my nans, I mean everywhere! I quickly learned the value of having pictures of friends, pets, and family that I loved and respected. Having learned what it felt like to lose friends, family, and pets from a young age, I made it a point to try and capture the people I care for on my camera.

When I get behind my camera now I feel inspired to help people give their loved ones something that is fun to make and not forced! Not only that, the most important thing for me is that you/your pet is comfortable at all times.

Let’s make memories now to be treasured for a lifetime.
